I had the opportunity to take the official race photography for Ruggles Green 6.2 on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Houston’s CityCentre. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous at first. This was my first official big gig that I did not organize myself, so I wanted to do a good job. The event started at 6:30 am, where volunteers needed to check-in and packets had to be picked up. The start of the race didn’t happen until around 8:00 am, but I had been shooting since I arrived. Though there was supposed to be a photographer to capture the runners finishing, I was put the task of doing it as well and I was glad to do it. All in all, I think it was a success. I was able to capture over 1,300 photos and hopefully I will have more gigs in the future. Check out the links to the photos.

What a busy weekend
This weekend was the Chevron Houston Marathon. My husband has been running it for as long as I can remember. Each year, as he prepares his morning routine, I’m there snapping pictures and gearing up to cheer him on. This year I was ready with my bicycle and SLR and snapping as I found him en route. I’m always at the start, Mile 16/17 and the finish. I’m so glad I was able to catch him at the end this year, last year we just got pictures of his backside. Congrats honey, I’m so proud of you! Here are some of the pictures. View them on Flickr.
